USB Compatible

Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel (in some views, you will see the control panel right in the first Start Menu)
Switch to Classic View (the option is in the top left of the control panel)
Select System
Select the Hardware tab
Click the Device Manager Button
At the bottom, you will see Universal Serial Bus controllers. Flip open the plus sign and in the list, usually at the top, it will identify if the controller is USB 1.1 or USB 2.0.

Please note if you have a Mac running OSX, you definitely have USB 2.0. But of course, all Macs have Firewire, so this should not be an issue. If you have a PC that is not Windows XP, then it is extremely likely your computer is USB 1.1.
